Sail Away on a New Hanse 315 with All You Need for a Year

15-Dec-2016
For new sailors yacht ownership can be daunting - there’s a lot to learn. To help new sailors Team Windcraft have devised a clever starter package, designed especially for first time yacht owners and novice sailors. It includes everything a prospective yacht buyer needs for the first year. There’s the yacht, a marina berth, sailing lessons, yacht maintenance training, a routine service and free entry to an exclusive Windcraft Owners rally event.

The yacht, a Hanse 315 is a neat, sporty 31 foot yacht and the first two have just arrived in Australia. World class designers Judel Vrolijk & co have reached new design heights with this model by creating a modern hull, deep keel and straight bow. This makes the 315 light and responsive at the helm and it’s proving popular. The Hanse 315 has already won three major awards in 2016 - the European Boat of the Year, Cruising Boat of the Year and Sailboat of the Year at HISWA. It is also the first in this size to receive a CE category A.

The 315 is Hanse's smallest model yet it has a clever spacious interior. It sleeps five people in two private cabins with versatile layouts. It’s easy to sail single-handed with the main and jib sheet leading aft to the helm position and Hanses’ unique self-tacking system.

The yacht is set up with a sail-away specification including twin wheels to provide maximum visibility and a locally fitted bimini for sun protection. Windcraft will also help to personalise the yacht with special features, like a BBQ for alfresco dinners, extra sunshades and offer help choosing the correct tender.

In addition to the yacht, the package also includes twelve months of berthing at Bayview Anchorage Marina on the beautiful northern beaches of Sydney. It’s a marina with direct access to the popular cruising area around Pittwater and Broken Bay. Plus buyers can also benefit from the advantage of a marina berth right outside the Team Windcraft head office where experts are on hand to answer any questions. New sailors will appreciate the sailing and yacht handling lessons that can take a complete novice to a skipper in a matter of hours. These lessons are with Windcraft’s Sailing Technician, Ric Hawkins.

“Ric is just so patient and he explains it in a really matter of fact way … he just has a knack of making it understood. Over three 2 hour sessions, I was sailing the boat … I felt quite confident to be handling the boat” - Chris Gudgin and Kate Gardiner.

Other useful training will be provided including yacht maintenance and safety equipment training with an in-house technician to show new owners how to use the navigation instruments and boat electrics. The Windcraft Group has its own leading yacht service centre where the new yacht will undergo a full annual service as part of the package.

One of the advantages of buying a Windcraft yacht is that the new owner becomes part of a community of like-minded people who enjoy their on-water lifestyle. Complimentary entry to a Windcraft Owners Rally is also included in the price.

Hanse Brand Manager, Mary Bickley says, “For anyone new to sailing or yacht ownership this is the perfect package. The Hanse 315 is incredibly easy to sail and the ideal starter yacht. And packaged in this way a new owner knows exactly what their first year investment is.”
